Olga es hija única y debe encargarse de cuidar a su padre. Agobiada por su trabajo, necesita a alguien que le cuide de noche y recurre a la última persona a quien su padre querría ver: Sor Inés, una monja Sierva de María.

La película narra los inicios de las Siervas de María, una institución religiosa originada en 1851, tiempos difíciles en los que estas monjas deben enfrentarse a revoluciones, epidemias y persecuciones religiosas.

Nos prepararemos para entender la película y, una vez vista, tomaremos una bebida en un bar y comentaremos algunos aspectos lingüísticos y culturales muy interesantes de la misma. En este caso, trabajaremos sobre todo algunos hechos de la historia de España y de la religión en nuestro país.

Olga is an only child and must take tare of her father. As she is really stressed because of her job, she hires the last person her father would like to see: Sister Inés, a nun from the Siervas de María order.

This film tells the story of the beginning of this religious order, which dates from 1851, where those nuns had to face revolutions, epidemics and religious persecutions.

We’ll do a short Spanish training before watching the movie and after the film, we’ll have a drink and comment on some of the most important linguistic and cultural aspects of it. In this case, we’ll work on some events in Spanish history and on some religious aspects.
